Part of my Egyptian series, this painting was born after a trip to Egypt - a realised life dream for me.
Depicting the breathtaking beauty of the Saharan desert both in daylight and night and the River Nile running through it like a shining star. Ancient Egyptians called the river Ar or Aur (black) because of the colour of the sediment left after the river's annual flood.
This abstract Aerial view uses light pastels in soft pinks and lilacs and warm peach and beige with a satin finish to represent the Sahara during the daylight hours and a glossy finish to represent the starry night.
But the real star of the artwork is its river, running right through the middle as a beautiful ribbon of highly reflective glitter.
This painting also features some intricate line work that represent all the paths criss-crossing the desert.
